Mechanical Engineer

NEVCO, a recognized leader in LED scoring and display technology, has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer at its headquarters located in Greenville, Illinois.


Scope of Responsibility:

Researches, plans and designs mechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical products and systems by performing the following duties:

  • Designs cabinet structures for housing electronic components and assemblies.
  • Uses theoretical and practical knowledge to ensure the integrity of mechanical designs.
  • Performs calculations to ensure structural integrity of custom scoreboard installations.
  • Documents designs with drawings, Bills of Material, and Change management system.
  • Works with manufacturing personal on pilot builds of new products to ensure a sound manufacturing process.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Vault.
  • Ability to perform stress/load calculations in large cabinet assembly and installation.
  • Experience programming CNC and turret punch presses would be a plus.
  • Successful candidates should have a four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, along with 2-4 years of practical engineering experience and a strong background in; plastic part design, sheet metal design, and CAD experience.
